The Regin a chapel located on the second floor offers students a place apart – a place to pray, to find consolation, shed tears and give thanks. These sentiments have remained the same for the Class of 1957 through the Class of 2007. Renovation of the chapel is one of the goals yet to be accomplished in the Strategic Plan of 2002. Although some renovations were done to the chapel in 1980, the Strategic Plan committee felt that more could be done to make the chapel more inviting to students, and to allow for more flexibility in its use by classes.
A committee has been meeting with Zarzicki and Malik architects to dream, plan and envision what the space could become. Some of the renovations are practical maintenance items – making it more energy efficient and replacing carpets and repainting. Other renovations will allow some of the original aspects of the chapel, namely the stained glass windows, to be restored to their original prominence.
We have asked alumnae, friends and benefactors to assist us in financing this project. A donor has promised to match gifts from alumnae and friends who have not made a gift to Regina for the last three years. If you care to make a donation, please call Kate Petrovic, Director of Advancement at 216-382-2110, x 243.
