Regina High Joins the
Fenn Academy Consortium
of Area High Schools

Regina is now an official member of the Fenn Academy Consortium of Area High Schools. The mission of Fenn Academy is to encourage students to pursue careers in engineering and technology and to provide technical support to students.

A Fenn Academy Coordinator will identify the eligible students who can participate in the Fenn Academy programs. From that point, students are given the title “Fenn Scholar”.

Through our Pre-Engineering program, Fenn Scholars will receive the academic and technical competencies that will enable them to be automatically admitted to Fenn College upon graduation. Our Fenn Scholars will also be ahead of their peers, having accumulated a number of transferable credit hours.

Moreover, through a co-op program sponsored by member corporations, students will learn firsthand the practical aspects of their career.

Cleveland State University’s Fenn College of Engineering is the higher education provider member of the academy. As a Fenn Scholar, a student is not obligated to attend Fenn College upon graduation from high school. However, if a student chooses to attend CSU’s Fenn College, a variety of programs and opportunities are available, such as the eligibility to participate in various scholarship programs, early cooperative education, and mentoring programs.

“Regina’s partnership with Cleveland State University’s Fenn Academy is an additional strategic alliance that Regina has established in order to provide additional opportunities for our students,” said Sr. Maureen Burke, principal. “Networking with institutions of higher learning promotes the sense of stewardship that is vital in times of limited resources.”
