. One of the traditional activities for the senior class at Regina is the Pilgrimage to Washington DC. This annual trip allows seniors to visit the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Franciscan Lourdes Grotto, many of our country’s national landmarks, a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Mass at Arlington Cemetery. The students travel by bus Friday morning and return late Sunday evening for a two-night, three day tour of the Capital.
We have scheduled the Pilgrimage for the Class of 2009 for October 10-12. Archbishop Timothy Broglio, Bishop of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. has offered to be the celebrant for the Mass at Arlington. Archbishop Broglio is from Cleveland (St. Ann's) and served at St. Margaret Mary prish. We will also have the opportunity to have Brunch following the Liturgy at the Officer’s Club at Fort Myer Army Headquarters.
Often alumnae and others in the Regina community have commented that they would like to make this trip to Washington D.C. Thus, for the trip in October 2008 we are opening the trip to alumnae, parents of alumnae and friends of Regina. We travel with Anderson Tour Bus Company and will staying at a hotel in the DC area. The cost for the weekend package is $400 based on double occupancy. We would need approximately 35 people to make this possible.
For more information and to register for the trip please call Sr. Maureen at 216-382-2110 ext. 223 or email her at burkem@reginahigh.com. Also please let your classmates, friends and family know about this wonderful opportunity.
