The Class of 2010 traveled to Washington, D.C. October 2 through 4, as part of the school’s yearly senior pilgrimage. This year marks the 39th annual pilgrimage to the nation’s capitol. “The primary focus of our pilgrimage is prayer…for peace… for our nation, and prayer to Mary,” said Sr. Sally Huston, assistant principal at Regina and trip coordinator.
En route, the pilgrimage stopped at Shanksville, PA, site of the Flight 93 memorial.
Seniors visited the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and have planned a prayer service at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. A special Mass for students and area Regina High alumnae was held at the Arlington Cemetery amphitheater. Following Mass and a visit to the Kennedy grave sites, seniors attended a special brunch at the Ft. Myers Officers’ Club.
Tours of the White House, Smithsonian and other area monuments and museums rounded out the trip.
