Class of 2011 Can Get a Jump
on College with SAND Program

The Regina SAND Program (Seniors at Notre Dame) is a unique opportunity available to members of the Regina High school class of 2011. The program enables Regina High juniors to complete their senior high school required courses of Senior English and Government at Notre Dame College. In addition, students will enroll in a full complement of college-level courses. In June, 2011, these students will graduate with a Regina High School diploma, as well as the college credits earned. These credits will appear on an official Notre Dame College transcript and should transfer to any college or university.

"This is a tremendous opportunity exclusively for Regina juniors,” commented Mrs. Rosemary Lips, Director of Guidance. “Not only will students in the SAND program graduate with a Regina diploma, but as a bonus, they will earn anywhere from 20 to 30 credits while still in high school. This amounts to a tremendous cost savings to families.”

Mrs. Lips explained that she and Mr. Roger Abood, Dual Enrollment Coordinator at Notre Dame College, will meet individually with each student and parent to discuss and assist with selecting classes.

Mrs. Lips will continue on next school year and work with the students regarding all aspects of the new program. She will also help with them with the college admissions process.

Students participating in the SAND program may participate in all Notre Dame clubs, activities, etc., with the exception of intercollegiate sports. Students may participate in Choral, Drama and even Marching Band. If desired, students may purchase a “meal plan” for breakfast or lunches at the college.

Tuition for this program will remain the same as this year’s tuition at Regina. Notre Dame College will also honor all scholarships and financial aid.

To register for the program, students must complete a Dual Credit Admission form, available in the Guidance office. All applications must be submitted to Mrs. Lips by March 5, 2010.
