Amazing Journey: A Gala Celebrating the Regina Legacy
The journey…amazing. The gala…spectacular. On Saturday evening, October 13th, nearly 300 friends gathered to celebrate the founding of Regina High School in 1953, and to honor three exceptional individuals whose dedication to Regina has helped make it the prominent institution it is today.
The Atrium of the Cleveland Clinic Lyndhurst Campus, with its palm trees and dramatic waterfall, provided a beautiful setting for an elegant evening.
Congratulations and thanks to this year’s Gala Honorees: Sister Marie Manning, SND, ‘64 and Janice Hornack, mother of Emily ’95, Julia ’96, Katherine ’98 and Margaret, ’01 for the way they live out the mission of Regina.
James P. Conway, father of the Hon. Colleen Conway Cooney ’74, Mary Catherine Conway ’75 and Patricia Conway Rhoa ’80, received a special Life Achievement Award, in recognition of his unselfish dedication and countless hours of service to Regina High School. The school community is very grateful to Jim for his tireless efforts on behalf of Regina.
Guests were greeted with beautiful music played by Sr. Mary Seton. SND and Regina students, Grace Urankar and Mary Rose Dobe. Our emcee, Judy Brown-Krizman’72 kept the evening alive. Maureen Walsh ’05 entertained guests by singing extraordinary renditions of “Heroes” and “Dear Heart”.
The evening which included a delicious dinner, a raffle and silent auction was co-chaired by John and Laura Bertsch P’09 and Cosmo and Mary Jo Mannen Bordonaro ’64. The funds raised will be used for educational initiatives at the school. The night was a big success thanks to our generous sponsors and auction donors and tireless efforts of the Gala Committee and volunteers from the Dads Club.
